European Union and World Health Organization support Shendi University Hospital with medical incinerator
The installation of the medical incinerator donated by the European Union through the World Health Organization has started at Shendi University Hospital.
The executive director of Shindi locality, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Al-Sheikh, accompanied by the local director of health, Samia Othman, examined the installation of the medical incinerator, nearing completion, to properly dispose of waste medical without leaving side effects.
The executive director of Shendi locality announced the intention of his locality to commission many medical incinerators, especially in light of the increasing number of large hospitals and dispensaries in Shendi town and its various administrative units in Shaqalwa , Musikatab and Housh. Banga.
He pointed out that the sharp increase in medical supplies consumables requires more medical incinerators, especially as medical and health institutions in Shendi have become a destination for the entire Sudanese population, especially specialized centers and hospitals such as Oncology and Cancer Hospital (Corn) and Renal Dialysis Hospital, affiliated to Shendi University.
Abdul Ghaffar said Shindi received thousands of patients after many hospitals in Khartoum and Gezira states shut down due to the war, putting pressure on the absorption capacity of health and medical institutions of Shindi, which doubled the amount of medical consumables, resulting in huge and significant amounts of medical waste, necessitating an increase in the number of medical incinerators to accommodate all the waste.
The Executive Director of Shindi locality, Khaled Abdul Ghaffar Al-Sheikh, thanked the Ministry of Health, the European Union and the World Health Organization for this appreciated support in maintaining an environment free of pollution due to medical waste.
