A crisis of confidence..
It seems that the Sudanese leadership is going through a crisis of confidence, as evidenced by the celebratory demonstrations of the American speech to the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, as His Excellency the President, as if it were a recognition of his legitimacy, and the President does not need it, since he has already addressed the United Nations in his capacity as President of Sudan.
The soft language that America has begun to use is the inevitable result of the failure of the stick policy, which disappointed the Sudanese people. So it had to resort to the carrot policy, which is an important indicator that should prompt the Sudanese leadership to insist on its firm position on the negotiations and confirm that the results of the Jeddah platform are the departure of the militias from the homes of citizens. Civilian property is the basis on which any new negotiation is built.
The government's justification for going to the Geneva tribune under the pretext of “we are not listening” is an absurd argument and has nothing to support it, because the issue is well known and adhering to a firm and principled position on this issue is what forces world opinion to take a stand on the militia and even classify it as a terrorist organization that has violated the Sudanese state and destroyed its foundations.
