A cry in the face of forgetting: Sudanese elderly people

In the midst of bloody conflicts that ravaged Sudan, the lives of thousands of civilians turned into a cruel security trip, and the elderly (our cabinets) were the most vulnerable category that paid the double price. These parents, who have spent their age building their societies, suddenly found foreigners over the country of Egypt, carrying the pain of the displacement and the weight of the years.
Today, with the advent of the International Day of Elderly, our humanitarian cries must be renewed towards the need for an urgent interest in the Sudanese elderly resident in Egypt. After a year of crisis, it is no longer just a relief that passes, but rather a responsibility for solidarity which requires the preparation of their yield with dignity and health security when the conditions allow.
The Challenges Faced by the Sudanese Elderly People in the Diaspora Are Multiple and Complex, and require understanding solutions that are not satisfied with housing and food, included Health and Psychological Burdens, so many people suffer from Chronic Diseases Such As Diabetes, press and Heart, Which Require continuous Medical care and essential medicines, but access to them becomes Difficult in Light of the Preeting of the Family and Lack of Resources, Along with the Shocks of Travel, so war has left and fleeing deep psychological effects, represented in depression, anxiety and post-traumatic disorders (SSPT), which require a specialized psychological rehabilitation.
Then, the cases of isolation and the loss of support networks were in the fields of social absence, the elderly were their warm social networks on which they depended in Sudan, which doubled the feeling of isolation and loneliness, and this seemed to make the difficulties of integration difficult because of the possibility of customs and cultural values with host society.
The economic and legal challenges encountered by Sudanese elderly people, including the loss of resources, most of them have lost their sources of income and their goods, and they have difficulty finding appropriate work on the Egyptian labor market, as well as routine obstacles, the complexities of registration procedures, obtaining documents and the renewal of residences represent a major question of administration and Alone, and can subject them to the difficulty of their failure and to the Elder Ly. movement.
Some of our efforts should be transformed with a simple relief into a plan that guarantees Sudanese elderly people to return to their country and which is in the best possible condition. This requires an integrated movement that focuses on axes of them, paying attention to a understanding health meeting to return with a full medical examination, so comprehensive medical statements must be for every refugee, with a focus on chronic disesses, and ensuring that sufficient And Persevere in a Regular Treatment Plan in Preparation for Safe Return, and Proving Medical Reporting The Amount of Portable Drugs Across the Crossings, To Prove Their requirement and her personality, the need for psychological rehabilitation by providing individual and group psychological support sessions to help them overcome the shocks of war and asylum.
Build solidarity companies, with Sudanese youth initiatives, to encourage a resident in Egypt to volunteer to provide practical and psychological support for the elderly, help them in their daily procedures and to provide adequate housing which takes into account the special needs of the elderly, while helping to simplify administrative and legal procedures and organize the extension of the Relevance.
The elderly are not only figures in the refugee lists, but rather the richness of wisdom and experience worthy of respect and care. Our duty today is to transform the international day of the elderly at the beginning for a serious and tangible work which guarantees them not only security in asylum, but also: to prepare to return with dignity and well-being in their country of origin.
Are we going to succeed in protecting this human wealth until they come back to contribute again to the journey of life for them and the fatherland?
