A joint meeting between health and Türkiye on the Turkish hospital in Nyala. Insurance for the continuous support of the hospital despite the current circumstances

A joint meeting took place yesterday in the presence of the under-security of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, as well as those concerned by the Ministry of Health in Türkiye and Sudan and the representative of the Ministry of Finance.

In his statements after the meeting, the under-secretary of the Ministry of Health explained that the main objective was to underline the continuity of providing health services to citizens of the state of southern Darfur, in particular in the light of difficult security conditions. The performance report, which included statistics on the services provided, was examined, in particular the mother’s health operations such as the cesarean, dialysis and emergency interventions. The challenges of work management, safety conditions and the benefits of medical executives have also been discussed.

The ambassador believed in the importance of continuous support provided to the hospital by joint coordination with the Sudanese Ministry of Health and the Agency, which requires the provision of pharmaceutical supply and support for financial and operational requirements. The agent also said that the hospital receives direct support from Türkiye, which includes drugs, fuel and food, in addition to the benefits of workers. He explained that the medical executives operating at the hospital are all Sudanese, as they were in the last 507 and fell to 270 due to the current circumstances.

He also revealed the departure of the Turkish mission, which worked at the hospital in December 2023, following the security situation, but confirmed the continuous support of the state of Türkiye in the hospital. It was agreed to improve coordination and overcome obstacles to ensure continuity of work during the next step.
