This is World Youth Skills Day, organized under the slogan “Youth Skills for Peace and Development.” This occasion is particularly important in light of the circumstances we are going through in Sudan, where Egyptian youth face many challenges, such as the difficulty of integration, the lack of employment opportunities, and the lack of skills needed to enter the country. labor market. Therefore, intensive collective efforts must be made to maximize and improve the skills of Sudanese youth in Egypt, following a comprehensive approach that takes into account various aspects of this issue:
Education and training are considered essential pillars of empowerment, by providing available and diversified educational opportunities, supporting formal and informal education programs, to enable Sudanese youth to acquire basic knowledge and skills, and strengthening vocational and technical training programs, with a focus on skills required in the current Egyptian labor market and training preparation for the reconstruction of Sudan, such as computer skills, programming and design, artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship, in order to improve the ability of young people to engage effectively in various sectors, supporting foreign language teaching programs, including English, to open broader horizons for young people by communicating with the outside world and acquiring new skills.
Community integration is seen as a bridge to cohesion and acceptance by encouraging interaction through cultural, sports and social programs that strengthen cultural exchanges and contribute to building strong relationships between Sudanese youth and Egyptian society, combating discrimination and racism by spreading a culture of tolerance and respect, promoting the principles of equality and social justice and supporting awareness-raising initiatives that highlight… It highlights Sudan’s achievements and helps correct misconceptions about Sudanese youth.
Linking skills to labor market needs is seen as a step towards sustainability by cooperating with active employers to accurately determine the needs of the labor market in Egypt, designing training programs that meet these needs and helping to bridge the gap between acquired skills and work needs, and supporting entrepreneurship by providing financing loans to Sudanese businessmen and training in management and marketing skills, to enable young people to launch their own projects and create new job opportunities, and developing career guidance programs: to help young people identify their own skills and interests and choose their appropriate career path.
Technology is seen as the key to opportunities in the digital age, providing opportunities to acquire digital technology skills such as programming, web design and digital marketing, to enable young people to participate effectively in the digital economy, while supporting the use of technology for communication. improve communication between Sudanese youth in Egypt and their home country, and facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences, while taking advantage of social media platforms to publish positive content that helps promote Sudanese culture and improve communication among young people.
Empowering Sudanese youth in Egypt is the responsibility of everyone, the embassy, the community, Sudanese businessmen, international institutions, civil society organizations, and the Egyptian private sector. Through teamwork and strategic planning, we can create a better future for Sudanese youth and enable them to contribute to building prosperous and peaceful societies.
