Academic calls for solution to overcrowding and traffic jam crisis in Shindi

Academician and professor at Shendi University, Dr. Nasser Muhammad Othman, has called on Shendi local authorities to find urgent solutions to the overcrowding crisis and traffic jams plaguing Shendi town, especially after the arrival of expatriates in Shendi due to the war. .

Dr. Nasser said that the one-way road experiment implemented by the local municipality in cooperation with the traffic department during the Eid days was a successful experiment in all respects and should be widespread and continued throughout throughout the year while addressing negative points that appear during implementation. .

Dr. Nasser Muhammad Othman pointed out that the succession of fruit production seasons has created a traffic crisis on the main road passing the central fruit market due to large trucks loaded with fruits as they block the road, especially during unloading. and shipping. process, which takes a lot of time.

Dr Nasser said the solution lies in moving the market to a larger location outside the city center, or having trucks stop outside the market and transport the fruits inside using small tankers (tuk-tuks).

It is worth noting that Shindi received a large number of expatriates and also received a number of professionals such as spare parts stores, automobile showrooms, boutiques and others, which doubled the footfall of the large market and small markets, in addition to thousands of cars. of different sizes, both commercial and private.
