Al-Burhan and Salva Kiir hold joint discussion session

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, held a joint discussion session at the Hospitality Palace in Juba.

The President of the Republic of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, welcomed the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council during his visit to Juba, stressing his support for the Sudanese people to achieve security and stability, and his country's willingness to make every effort to end the war and end the conflict in Sudan.

He expressed his appreciation for the level of cooperation between the two countries and for strengthening ties between Sudan and South Sudan in order to realize the hopes and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.

The discussions also focused on ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations in a way that serves the people of both countries. In addition to the prospects for joint cooperation and issues of concern to both countries in all fields.

The two sides agreed to consult to reach a mechanism that would transport humanitarian aid to South Kordofan via Juba International Airport.

The discussions also focused on the South Sudanese oil file and pending issues between the two countries, in addition to the issue of transporting South Sudanese oil. The two sides agreed to form a joint committee of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum of Sudan and South Sudan and to develop an operational plan to restore pumping and remove all obstacles related to its operation so that the transmission line can function fully.

At the end of the discussions, the President of the Sovereignty Council expressed his deep appreciation for the strong fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, adding that the two peoples constitute one people in two states. Commending the role of the Republic of South Sudan in maintaining the safety, security and stability of Sudan.

Stressing that the security and stability of Sudan is the security and stability of South Sudan.

It is worth noting that the discussions took place in the presence of the Sudanese side, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, Acting Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Engineer Mohieddin Naeem, and Sudanese Ambassador to Juba, Ambassador Issam Karrar.
