Al-Burhan and Salva Kiir hold joint discussion session

Today in Juba, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General #Abdel Fattah_Burhan, held a discussion session with the President of the Republic of South Sudan, #Salva Kiir Mayardit, regarding the promotion and development of bilateral relations and advancement of prospects for joint cooperation.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin, said in a press release that the visit of Lieutenant General Rukn Al-Burhan to Juba is part of the ongoing consultations between the leaders of the two countries.

He said the visit also aims to provide support to President Salva Kiir and the government of South Sudan regarding the developing situation in the south. He added that the chairman of the Sovereignty Council provided a full explanation to his brother, President Salva Kiir. on the situation in Sudan in the context of the rebellion led by the terrorist militia Rapid Support against the state and its institutions.

Highlighting the progress of the armed forces, regular forces and joint forces in all areas of operations. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit also focused on cooperation between the two countries in the fields of oil, trade and border security, as well as its contribution to the revitalization and relaunch of bilateral relations.

For his part, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the South, Majak Filemon Majok, explained that the visit of the Chairman of the Sovereign Council of the Republic of South Sudan was part of the close relations between the two countries .

Stressing that the two presidents discussed a number of common issues, including cooperation in the oil sector and security of common borders, as well as areas of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

Majok expressed hope that this visit would contribute to strengthening cooperative relations between Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan in a manner that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
