Al-Shamalia launches electronic registration of breeders as part of vaccination and livestock treatment campaigns

As part of the development of veterinary services and the strengthening of the organization of the pastoral sector, the Northern Supreme Council for Livestock, Fisheries and Pastures launched the electronic registration of breeders and farmers, in the Al-Salim region, section (2) North, affiliated to the Eastern Nile administrative unit in the locality of Dongola.
Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Livestock and Fisheries Resources of the Northern State, Dr. Al-Tayeb Habibullah, confirmed in a press release that the electronic registration is part of a livestock vaccination and treatment campaign, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Livestock, Fisheries and Pastures of the state, and under the patronage of the state governor of the North, Lieutenant General Abdul Rahman Abdul Hamid.
He explained that the electronic recording system contributes to facilitating the work of veterinary and technical staff and improving the provision of veterinary, diagnostic and therapeutic services, with particular emphasis on pastoral communities, thus strengthening the effectiveness of health interventions and ensuring that they reach those who deserve them.
He highlighted that the campaign aims to vaccinate and treat around 280 thousand heads of livestock in the seven localities of the state, while the number of beneficiaries of the project aimed at improving the livelihoods and resilience of pastoral and agricultural communities is around 28 thousand families.
