After the war of April 15, 2023, due to the rebellion of the Rapid Support Forces against the Sudanese state, the name of the city of Halfayat al-Muluk was frequently mentioned due to its geographical and strategic influence which cast a shadow shadow over reality. and the course of events is accelerating to resolve this brutal rebellion which has targeted man, land and honor across vast areas of our wounded homeland…
The hopes and aspirations of the Sudanese people have continued and continue to be to thwart this heinous and sinful rebellion, through our armed forces, our joint forces, our regular agencies and those mobilized in popular resistance…
The masses of the Sudanese people were waiting, anticipating and supporting their forces to achieve the desired goal.
However, the date is September 26, 2024
It was a landmark story for what came before it and what comes after, in the first line of the book The Ends of the Rapid Support Militia Rebellion.
And this, since the armed forces crossed last week the Halfaya bridge, linking Omdurman and Khartoum North… as well as the Medical Weapon and Al-Fatihab bridges, linking Omdurman to the center of Khartoum.
This crossing is not like other crossings, and these heroisms and sacrifices which accompanied it are not like passing events, and history will not exclude them, but will write them in letters of light which will descend on our martyrs , our wounded and our oppressed on the map of our bereaved homeland.
We should review, in the history book, the documented historical facts and information about the past and present of the city of Obour, the city of Halfaya of the Kings.
Formerly known as Halfaya. Halfaya of the kings received this name in reference to the history of the kings of the state of Abdallab during the reign of the Sultanate of Zarqa, whose kings fled the city of Qary to Halfaya, and some of them remained in Qary. After the Abdlab left the villages in 1747 AD, they took it as their capital and it was called Halfayat al-Muluk. The reference to the name is that the coronation ceremonies of kings Abdlab took place there.
The town of Halfaya al-Muluk is one of the oldest towns in Sudan
The first tribe to settle there
They are the Sawarda tribe and the largest cemeteries are named after them, located in the southeast direction of Halfaya Bridge.
The main occupation of the people of Halfaya Al-Muluk within its present borders is agriculture, and they own vast lands starting at Halfaya and ending with parachute weapons at the present Shambat Bridge.
It should be noted that Halfaya did not always designate the city of Halfaya des Rois in its current borders.
Historical evidence, documents recording rain-fed agricultural lands, say that the great town of Bahri was affiliated with the Halfaya of the Kings, which clearly shows that the agricultural area extending to the borders of Wadi Soba is called the Halfaya rainfall .
The name Khartoum Bahri is a modern name.
As for the Abdalab, who made it their capital, they governed Sudan for 317 years.
The period of their reign was the most stable in the history of medieval Sudan.
Although the Turks established their capital at Khartoum, Halfaya remained the capital of a vast region including Halfaya al-Muluk and the White Nile, due to its administrative influence and distinctive geographical location.
Halfayat al-Muluk had a great influence that extended to the Mahdist state, when al-Mahdi al-Hashimi appointed Wad al-Zubayr as emir, for the region from Halfayat al-Muluk to Hajar al-Assal.
In recent history there are great figures that we cannot contain in this brief article, among them
