An important meeting of the Governor of the Red Sea and the Minister of Culture and Information on the functioning of the archaeological building on the island of Suakin

A meeting was held to include the Governor of the State of the Red Sea, Lieutenant-General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, Minister of Culture and Information, Khaled Al -esir, and under-secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information, Dr. Graham Abdel Qader, Director of Tourism at the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism, President Abdel Rahim Bishara, in addition to Professor Samia Ooshik, the President of the Council of the Preet for the Presiimière for the Bishara, in addition to the profession of tourism, the environment and the investment, to receive the archaeological building from the city of Suakin, which was maintained and equipped by the Turkish government, represented by the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TICA).

The meeting ended to discuss how the building can be exploited, such as Dr. Graham Abdel -qader, under -secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information, that the main objective of Reunion is to be held on the qualifications of the archaeological building and to employ it to serve tourism, while expanding its scope to include environmental tourism. He also stressed the importance of inviting the private sector to participate in the operation of this site in a way that reaches objectives that overlap for tourism, antiquities and the local community.

Dr. Graham thanked the Turkish government and the Turkish International Cooperation Organization (TICA) for its efforts to maintain and finish buildings, stressing that the building will be used to serve tourism and antiques in the near future.

For her part, Professor Samia Oshik, head of the Supreme Council for Tourism, the Environment and Investment in the State of the Red Sea, explained that the meeting had taken the necessary measures to exploit the building as a hotel, while discussing all the details linked to its functioning in the city of SUAKIN, which is classified in world heritage sites. She added: “We hope that the monuments will be defined which will contribute to the activation of tourism and will benefit from this archaeological site, especially since the island is abundant in distinctive tourist views.”

She continued by saying that the Ministry of Tourism has developed a clear plan to exploit the island and benefit from it through partnerships and contracts to ensure the absorption of visitors from different countries in the world.

In the same context, Allam Abdel Rahim Bishara, director of the tourism sector at the Ministry of Culture and Information, said that the meeting had come to operate the building and preserve it as an archaeological and tourism location, indicating that the region is distinguished by a single tourist confidentiality and requires the attention of the state and investors to effectively insure its management.

He added that the functioning of the building requires the entry of capital capable of managing this tourist attachment, stressing that the archaeological buildings of the island of Suakin must be preserved on the list of World Heritage, because they are able to attract different types of tourism, in particular environmental and historical tourism.
