⭕ Rumors have always been a source of societal concern that threatens the social fabric and negatively affects them. Hence the role of the General Administration of Culture, Media and Communications of the locality of Shendi in adopting a series of multiple programs aimed at refuting rumors. and resisting them with innovative and effective methods.
⭕ This initiative was not just a reaction, but rather a proactive step towards building a society free from misleading information.
⭕ These programs were founded with the primary goal of debunking rumors and educating the public about their dangers and how to deal with misinformation. The administration is working hard to showcase its leadership role in educating the community and providing correct information through its multiple platforms.
⭕ The administration should rely on multiple methods to effectively combat rumors, including workshops, seminars, awareness campaigns via social networks and the production of interactive digital content aimed at strengthening the critical awareness of the public and enabling them to differentiate true from false information.
🟢Together Against Rumors Campaign:
An awareness program that included several educational conferences in schools and universities.
🟢 A series of videos explaining the dangers of rumors and how to analyze information.
⭕ These programs have helped to build community awareness and build a wall against rumors, as the public has relied more on reliable sources of information and has become more critical and analytical about what circulates on social media.
There is an urgent need to address rumors and call for citizens' participation in maintaining the security and stability of society, which is embodied in the “Security is everyone's responsibility” campaign carried out by the General Administration of Culture, Media and Communications under the supervision of Mr. Babakir Sayed Al-Azraq and the patronage of Mr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Executive Director of Shendi Locality.
⭕ The campaign was widely welcomed and saw broad public participation in Blocks 37 and 38, where the focus was on refuting rumors and clarifying the importance of immediately reporting any threats to public safety, while highlighting the role of electronic media in combating them.
⭕ The program included several segments ranging from education to entertainment, which were carefully prepared and directed so that the message could effectively reach the audience.
⭕ The Drama Stars Troupe also participated in awareness programs that included veiled messages in a comedic style, but with content that carried with it the importance of reporting and refuting rumors.
⭕ Mr. Alam Al-Din Musa, representative of the local executive director, stressed the vital role of citizens in combating rumors and fake news and stressed the need for a sense of collective responsibility towards environmental security and the safety of the nation.
⭕ The event and the message it conveyed to the community were praised as local issues such as water shortage and the challenges faced by residents of the neighborhood were also addressed, emphasizing that the campaign was not limited to debunking rumors.
⭕ This event highlights that security is not only the responsibility of security authorities, but rather a shared responsibility that falls on every individual in society. Therefore, everyone must cooperate and actively participate in protecting social peace, by reporting any potential threats and raising awareness among individuals about the importance of being aware and vigilant against rumors.
