Anti-smuggling fight seizes large quantities of copper smuggled out of country
The Red Sea and Nile States' counter-smuggling departments have successfully thwarted large-scale smuggling operations targeting the country's economic resources, as the Red Sea State's Counter-Smuggling Department has seized a ton of copper on board a covered truck which was on board. far from the country.
In Nile State, the administration managed to seize 500 bags of professionally packed copper scrap for smuggling purposes. The Control Department confirmed that the seized copper was extracted from electrical equipment and industrial cables, as part of a systematic attempt to sabotage state infrastructure.
Acting Director General of Customs Force, General Yasser Siddiq Muhammad Ahmed, praised the remarkable efforts made by the anti-smuggling services spread across different states. He stressed that these efforts contribute to confronting attempts to smuggle national resources, emphasizing the importance of the role of anti-smuggling forces in protecting the nation's capabilities.
Brigadier General Abbas Abdel Qader Dinar, director of the anti-smuggling department in the Red Sea State, explained that these quantities were seized in separate operations thanks to the vigilance of the forces. He stressed that the Department of Control is working around the clock to protect national resources, especially in light of the current battle for dignity.
For his part, Brigadier General Adam Omar Sabeel, Director of the Anti-Smuggling Department in Nile State, revealed the implementation of a qualitative operation based on precise information, surveillance and intensive monitoring , which resulted in the seizure of 500 bags. of scrap copper in addition to quantities of other contraband goods, which included 50 packets of creams and 46 bags of thiourea, used to extract gold, 32 packets of used clothing, a Kalashnikov rifle and a Starlink device.
Customs force media reported that all legal measures had been taken against smugglers and seized goods, confirming the continuation of intensive efforts to combat all forms of smuggling to protect the national economy and the country's capabilities.
