Applying the concept of social responsibility in Sudan ✍️ Professor: Fikri Kabbashi, Al-Amin Al-Arabi

Morality and values are no longer expressed as an intellectual luxury as they were considered in the past and as religious virtues that have no mention in the material world, however, with the tremendous development and entry into different worlds such as the industrial world and the information revolution, all societies have come to agree on the importance of morality and values as a way of life. It is a major reason to support civilization and modern man cannot live without it. Social marketing is an activity that promotes positive human ideas and values and aims to improve the living conditions of individuals by promoting positive lifestyles and important behaviors to save people and save society from rigid materialism.

Some may think that social responsibility is limited to charitable institutions and social institutions, and this is a wrong concept since private institutions, through the activities they offer, have their social contributions, and many consumers have begun to ignore and disrespect institutions that do not care about humans and do not care about them. In addition to applying the social concept of marketing and assuming social responsibility, since it is beneficial for companies to work to align their production projects with the interest of the environment. on the one hand and the interest of the consumer on the other, since their philosophy must be based first on achieving social good, followed in importance by profit considerations, this ideal of orientation in corporate policy is required, and some of them have implemented it to be the first initiators of effective and pioneering participation in the field of the environment, by supporting and participating in charitable, social and educational activities and adopting certain social concerns. When we look at Sudan, we see that the awareness of social responsibility appeared early. Thanks to the contributions of patriotic businessmen of the past, and for example in the field of health, we see that large hospitals such as Ibrahim Malik, Ahmed Qasim, Al-Naw and Jaber Abu Al-Ezz Hospital were built with funding from the Sudanese. businessmen and were gifted to the Sudanese people, and their management was entrusted to the Ministry of Health and Al-Salmabi departments for children in a number of hospitals, such as Kassala Hospital and Gedaref Hospital, as well as in the field of education, such as the endowment of Al-Baghdadi Hall at the University of Khartoum, Sheikh Al-Badawi Auditorium at the Islamic University of Omdurman, secondary schools such as Sheikh Mustafa Al-Amin and Al-Ashi, as well as Al-Dha Hajouj Center for the Infirm, and the list is long for contributions in societal fields, but unfortunately all these vital contributions to the embodiment of societal responsibility were limited to a specific generation and a specific historical era.
