The Governor of the Red Sea, General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, revealed that his government has taken urgent measures to address the water shortage due to the collapse of the Arbaat Dam by bringing water to the city of Port Sudan, indicating that the rest of the region's localities have not been affected by the collapse due to the presence of different water sources.

In his speech today, the governor announced the opening session of the seminar on the Arbaat Dam: causes of the collapse, strategic solutions and implementation mechanisms, organized by the Ministry of Urban Development of the Red Sea State in coordination with the Board of Directors of the Engineering Council and the Board of Directors of the National Water Authority, in the Intelligence Services Room, announced his commitment to implementing the recommendations of the seminar, calling for presenting a scientific vision on the causes of the collapse of the dam.

The governor explained that a few weeks before the dam collapse, the General Intelligence Service had started clearing the fourth dam east of the Arbaat Dam.

Mustafa confirmed the presence of several dams in Port Sudan, which led to water stability, stressing the agreement with international organizations to channel water from underground wells in Arbaat and other dams after floods washed away the pipelines.
