Azza Soudani facing American arrogance – the last treatment – ✍️ Khaled Fadl Al-Sayyid

There are many stories and anecdotes that tell and discuss the pride, dignity and nobility of the Sudanese citizen, their adherence to principles and values and the fulfillment of their duty at work, whatever that may be. the price, and there are many situations that speak about this, in many countries in different parts of the world, and even in Sudan itself, this pride and this dignity is what has driven people. Global societies give special place to every Sudanese and respect and appreciate them for adhering to their noble values. and self-esteem.

In this story we discuss one aspect of this Sudanese pride. This happened in the city of Port Sudan, and it was sent by one of our colleagues from a media group to which we belong, its hero, Al-Mataya. It was Lieutenant Colonel M/Arif Mahmoud, customs police officer. We ask God for mercy and forgiveness for him and we tell the story as it comes from the mouth of its narrator.

During the American blockade of Sudan, an American ship arrived at the port of Port Sudan and the first government action was taken with the customs police by the port officer.

As usual, the Sudanese customs officer boarded the ship to take the declaration, manifest, close the liquor store and other routine procedures.

But before entering, the captain was greeted by a security group (ship security) and asked to prove his identity, write a visitor preamble, fill out an information sheet, and many more procedures.

He explained to them that the customs police sign on his clothes is enough of a sign to prove who he is and what he does. As for other procedures, it is clear to them that he is an officer representing Sudan and that they are in Sudan. Sudanese waters and that it is he who asks them to present declarations and other documents, and that the customs law guarantees him the right not to board… Only the ship, but also has the right to inspect it if necessary.

Then the American guards arrogantly refused and told him, “You are not allowed to board the ship.” »

The mentality of Americans, who imagine themselves to be above all laws, did not expect this officer's decision, since he got off the ship and placed an armed force of customs police with specific instructions that no one should get off or on board the ship. ship, no matter what or for any reason.

The American crowd was surprised by the decision of the Sudanese officer, who returned the fate to them and placed them under house arrest by force of arms, leaving them only one option, that of leaving.

Then the American captain called the American charge d'affaires in Khartoum, who in turn called the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who in turn called the Minister of the Interior, who in turn called the Director General of the police, who in turn called the director general. of the customs police at the time, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Sheikh.

The dock duty officer's phone rang and when he answered, the person on the other end of the line was the Director General of Customs, who asked him what had happened?

The dock officer presented the situation impartially and it was clear to the American crowd that he was the customs officer on duty, that he represented the government of Sudan, and that he was the one with the right to ask them for information and declarations. , and not the reverse.

Then the Director General of Customs responded with a comforting response saying: Congratulations, and he praised his opinion that the American ship had no choice but to apologize to the Sudanese officer or leave.

You can imagine America, whose fleets roam the seas and impose a blockade on Sudan. The American captain had no choice but to appear in person at the Sudanese officer's office and ask him to accept the apology and ask for forgiveness, and to ask him for forgiveness. agree to complete customs clearance procedures and undertake to fully obey the customs authorities and their directives.

What prompted me to mention the above situation is that the Customs Police Officer who held the above post was Police Lt. Col. M/Arif Mahmoud who died at dawn on Monday in the city of Port Sudan and who suddenly left our world.

O God, forgive him, have mercy on him, honor his abode and resting place, and bestow blessings on his descendants, and accept him with You in the highest, with the two friends and martyrs and their good ones. companions.
