Citizen journalism…and one-sided love!! – Paths – ✍️ Mahfouz Abdine
When it rains, even if it is light, and its particles gather in a (low) and (limited) place, this usual little scene can be photographed by a citizen with their phone and written under the image, for example example: “Shendi” (sink) in (one inch) of water, and this simple action can be in anyone's eyes. His gaze falls on the image and the line below (caption) which can be the reason to cancel a major effort made by the authorities in Shendi, for example, or elsewhere, and this unprofessional journalistic work coming from a citizen who does not know the extent of what he has done. It is possible that this great effort has been achieved? by the authorities was completely ignored, or that it was completely destroyed by this image, or that ultimately it was a blow to the north for those who were affected by this image.
The reason for this is simple: it is what we call in the (new media) journalism (citizen), or citizen (journalist), and the ordinary citizen has become a journalist because he has a smartphone with which he can write, take photos and have a network.
To communicate, to send what he has produced, he has accounts in the media, and he realizes in an instant everything that is known by known means, (the sender), (the recipient), (the mediator ), and (the content). Therefore, it can send an image or news, and certainly without (professionalism) or (professionalism) and its (harm) can be greater than its (benefit), like (alcohol), and citizen journalism lacks professionalism and of professionalism. This represents a danger, especially with the speed of transmission of (information), (image) or (material) between people, faster than the propagation of (wildfire). Because citizen journalism does not have the whole truth, cannot communicate with all parties. to the news and cannot convey the views of all parties involved, this constitutes injustice and oppression against one or more parties.
Because (credibility) is one of the most important characteristics and characteristics of information, the credibility of citizen journalism is not available to a large extent in all cases, because it does not have the ability to verify the complete truth of the information and images it publishes.
The image itself is sometimes vulnerable to distortion and tampering due to applications such as Photoshop, etc., which do to images what alcohol does not do to the drinkers' heads.
Neither the head of this region nor his information office can follow up on what has been published in the media and respond in a way that “refutes” what is said there.
Citizen journalism via social media can be compared to the buzzing of mosquitoes. This can be more bothersome than infecting you with malaria, and sometimes it infects you with (killing) malaria.
Citizen journalism is sometimes like a reckless person carrying a gun. You may be seriously injured, which may result in your life, or you may be lucky and suffer (scratches) or superficial injuries that can be controlled without side effects.
Citizen journalism through media has become a “cowardly” weapon that is often used to insult, insult, defame others, settle scores, ridicule others, and belittle the efforts of dedicated people. Among these and those you can find a “praise”. » a “plaque of honor” or a certificate of “appreciation”. Or (scarf) honoring an act of citizen journalism.
The question remains: can the (negative) and (harmful) effects of citizen journalism be limited by the laws that exist between prosecutorial courts and cybercrime courts, or can they be limited by culture and behavior of the citizen regarding Islamic determinants? that Islam has provided to preserve human rights and the right of a Muslim over his fellow Muslims, do they constitute the most effective treatment?
Another question: can the professional and professional standards that govern journalistic work disappear because of citizen journalism or citizen journalists?!!
