Closure of Sudanese schools in Egypt in order to reconcile their financial and administrative conditions with those of foreign schools ✍️ Dr. Abou Al-Tayeb Adam Hassan Suleiman
The decision of the authorities of the governorates of Cairo and Giza to close all Sudanese schools without excluding any school, even the Sudanese Friendship School, affiliated to the Cultural Chancellery, itself affiliated to the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Egypt.
Therefore, all Sudanese schools have decided to suspend studies as of Wednesday 26/06/2924, until further notice.
Based on our experience in this field, we can say that the reasons given by the Egyptian side for taking such a decision are as follows:
##Egyptian authorities are seeking to register and survey all Sudanese schools on their territory after granting Sudanese businessmen and school owners sufficient time, estimated at one full academic year.
## This procedure is considered a normal routine administrative procedure to legalize the conditions of schools to be transformed into foreign schools.
## The Egyptian authorities will not take the risk of closing Sudanese businesses and schools, as they constitute a huge economic locomotive that pulls other major Egyptian economic sectors with it.
## We expect this process to take a significant amount of time, depending on the circumstances of each school, between now and the start of the next school year, God willing.
## These business activities aimed at Sudanese businessmen and school owners who meet the conditions and specifications will resume operations after the review.
## We expect that the relevant Egyptian authorities will ask schools that meet the conditions to prepare an application to operate as a foreign school in order to approve the application in advance.
## We expect that there will be financial costs to legalize their status as foreign schools
What interventions are required by the Embassy of Sudan regarding the following points?
=== Sudanese Friendship School: –
– – – We expect the closure of the Sudanese Friendship School to be repeated more than once. I also hope that the reason for this is not the requirements and specifications (environmental, health and climate) regarding buildings, playgrounds, school tools and equipment, the qualifications of teachers, or violations of administrative and technical work at the level of the educational process or the required work permits) and other requirements and specifications that have a direct relationship with the safety and security of our students and that contribute to enabling the educational process to achieve the desired objectives and have no direct relationship with the complete immunity enjoyed by the school as an institution affiliated with the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan.
___ What agreements have been approved between the Government of Sudan and the Arab Republic of Egypt regarding the establishment of… Sudanese Friendship School in Egypt
==== The rest of the other Sudanese schools :_
___ The Sudanese Embassy should obtain the law regarding the requirements and specifications for the establishment of foreign schools in Egypt and study it in depth to determine the extent of the capacity of Sudanese schools in Egypt to work together through a specialized committee .
___ The Sudanese Embassy should quickly reach an agreement with the relevant authorities in Egypt to complete and complete the current school year (intermediate level exams and Sudanese certificate) without being affected by the procedures for legalizing school conditions.
___ The Sudanese Embassy should be aware that transfer procedures to a foreign school are not an easy task in the current circumstances of many Sudanese schools in Egypt.
___ The Sudanese embassy must work to obtain a new deadline for schools that do not meet the conditions of working as foreign schools to gradually adjust their conditions.
___ The Sudanese embassy should make serious efforts to implement what was agreed during the official meetings between the two sides in matters of education, so that it is in line with the decisions to legalize the status of Sudanese schools in Egypt as foreign schools.
