Condemning the bombing of Al-Fasher hospital in the south and some residential areas
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Darfur Regional Government condemns in the strongest terms the horrific bombing of Al-Fasher Hospital, in the south of the country, this morning, 05/31/2024, by the rebel militia Rapid Support, which led to the injuries and injuries of dozens of women, children and service providers.
The ministry also condemns the indiscriminate bombings of the Rapid Support Militia on the neighborhoods of Al-Amal, Baranjieh, Al-Kifah, Peace and Relief, which left civilians dead and injured.
What the militia did is considered a war crime and an attempted execution of patients and medical and administrative staff working in the hospital's wards and departments.
This happened despite repeated denunciations and declarations by the ministry not to attack hospitals and civilian assets that provide services to civilians.
We call on the international community to immediately stop bombing hospitals and protect patients and medical staff working in hospitals and health centers.
The silence of the international community in the face of these crimes and violations encourages militias to commit more violations, weakens the chances of protecting patients and medical and administrative staff of hospitals and health centers, and threatens to put the hospital out of service , just like some hospitals. in recent days they have been out of service due to militia shelling.
