Director of Shindi Water: The number of water consumers increased from 15,000 to 50,000 families after the war

The director of Shindi Water, engineer Al-Waleed Mahjoub, announced that the number of water consumers increased from 15,000 to 50,000 families after the war.

He said on Wednesday on the Shendi Al-Douri radio platform that the sharp increase in population observed in the locality due to the war, in addition to the significant expansion of markets, factories and medical stores, has led to an increase significant increase in water consumption. .

During his administration, he worked to rehabilitate water stations and increase their production to cope with the great pressure from increased arrivals, and the administration worked to find new water sources to cover shortage and provide water as needed.

He explained that the main water shortage in the locality was due to reasons beyond the responsibility of the administration, such as power cuts and the weakness of the transport network, which has not changed for more than 30 years in the city, and efforts are being made to renew the water systems to avoid some of these problems resulting from weak water systems.

He pointed out that there are national, foreign and international organizations that have contributed to the improvement of water sources, whether by building new wells or providing alternative energy sources, whether through generators or solar energy, which has improved the water supply.

Regarding the Nile station, engineer Walid Mahjoub indicated that the Nile station is expected to operate in the coming period after the arrival of 12 containers of equipment at the station site and the arrival of 12 other containers from Port Sudan, and the rest of the engineers are awaiting entry visas.
