The Director of the General Ministry of International Health of the Federal Ministry of Health, d. Alaa Al -Tayeb Muddath, representative of the Federal Minister of Health, is a virtual meeting with the director of external relations at the Syrian Ministry of Health, Dr. Yasser Saad Sheikh Taha. The meeting has dealt with the renewal of the signing of the updated protocol agreement for Sudanese-Syrian cooperation in the fields of public health, benefiting from experiences and preparing a memorandum of understanding which includes training and technical support opportunities, in particular in the fields of laboratories and drugs.
The final agreement between the Sudanese and Syrian parties should be signed after the next visit between the two ministries, which will allow the opportunities offered by the protocol.
D. ALAA AL -TAYEB that Sudanese -Syrian medical cooperation will help improve the benefit of the capacities enjoyed by the two countries, in particular in the fields of the manufacture of drugs and the transfer of the experience of Sudanese health insurance which has succeeded in covering a large number of citizens under the umbrella of health insurance. She said that she had submitted an invitation to the Syrian party to prepare the medical protocol to sign it during the expected mutual visit between the health ministers in the two countries.
She added that the bilateral agreement will contribute to the return of Syrian investors to invest in the Sudanese health sector.
For his part, the director of external relations at the Syrian Ministry of Health, Dr. Yasser Saad Sheikh Taha, said that the meeting had discussed the possibility of the return of Syrian pharmaceutical companies to work in Sudan after their official recording, in addition to preparing for the visit of the Ministers of Health of both Parties. He confirmed their support for Sudanese laboratories, expressing their aspiration to record Syrian pharmaceutical companies in Sudan for the interests of the two countries.
