Federal leader calls for end to UN fact-finding mission mandate

The head of the initially federal party, Dr. Shatha Othman Al-Sharif, called for the need to end the assignment of the UN mission in Sudan after it exceeded its assigned tasks and addressed issues outside the mandate given to it.

She said the mission's request to deploy forces to Sudan does not serve the cause of peace in Sudan, but rather complicates the situation and constitutes a blatant international intervention in the country.

Al-Sharif believes that the international community must put pressure on the militias that rebelled against the homeland and committed the worst types of human rights violations, including looting, arson and rape, and work to classify them as a terrorist group, in addition to putting pressure on the countries that support this militia, which have become known, and impose sanctions on them for their continued support for the rebellion.
