Gedaref Announces Cultivation of Nine Million Acres
Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General and Marine Engineering Advisor *Ibrahim Jaber*, ordered the companies operating on the Gedaref-Hawata road to intensify work to complete the road as soon as possible.
This came during his meeting in his office today with Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, Governor of Gedaref.
He reassured his sovereignty on the general situation in Gedaref State and the efforts to make the agricultural campaign a success and the first preparations for the sesame and peanut harvest season, which augur high productivity that should cover the local market and support the country's exports.
For his part, Gedaref Governor Lt. Gen. Mohamed Ahmed Hassan announced the success of the current campaign after the completion of cultivation of all targeted areas, which exceeded the allocated area of about two million acres. The current season is free from agricultural pests, which allows Gedaref State to cover the losses of other states.
