Gedaref Governor Receives Intelligence Support to Improve Watering Program

The Gedaref State Government today received a 12.5 tonne water tanker from the General Intelligence Service, to support the state’s efforts to resolve the drinking water crisis and improve the irrigation programme, in line with a commitment made during an official visit to the state.
The Director of the General State Intelligence Service explained that the agency’s leadership follows with great interest the problems of citizens of various states, noting that the state of Gedaref enjoys special priority in light of the challenges related to drinking water. He stressed that the supplied tanker would help alleviate the severity of the crisis and support the state’s preparations for the summer season.
He added that these contributions are part of the social responsibility programs implemented by the General Intelligence Service in a number of vital sectors, highlighting the agency’s commitment to standing alongside citizens and contributing to solving their problems, in addition to its fundamental roles in security and intelligence work.
For his part, the Acting Governor of Gedaref, Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Director General of the General Intelligence Service and all employees of the agency, welcoming this initiative which contributes to alleviating the chronic water crisis in the state.
The governor highlighted that the water problem is one of the biggest challenges facing Gedaref, stressing that this support will help improve water supply, especially during the summer, and alleviate the suffering of citizens in the affected areas.
