Health Insurance launches a bouquet of complementary medical services and issues cards to 65,000 subscribers

Today (Tuesday), the National Health Insurance Fund launched the Supplementary Medical Services Package, which is a quality service for the government and the private sector.
The Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daim, during his speech at the service launching ceremony, announced the launch of the medical card for 65,000 cards.
He stressed that health insurance provides a network of outlets that meets the quality of service provided in all states.
Dr. Nour Al-Dayem described the supplementary package as one of the most important pillars in implementing comprehensive health coverage in the country and that it contributes to unifying the financing pool and equity in service delivery.
He welcomed the commitment of the Ministry of Finance and its units to pay the contributions for the additional medical package.
At the inauguration ceremony, subscriber cards for a set of additional services were handed over to employees of the Ministries of Finance, the Audit Bureau, the Audit Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Council of Ministers.
The first undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdullah Ibrahim Lazem, considered this additional plan as the beginning of the control of the health funds that the state paid to non-governmental sectors.
He described this step as an excellent opportunity to reform the health financing system.
He assured the commitment of the Ministry of Finance to the success of the programme by pledging to mobilise funds.
