The Federal Ministry of Health, represented by the two general departments of basic health care and health emergencies and epidemics, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, organized today at Al-Rih Al-Tarifi Hall in the city of Kassala a workshop for rapid response teams for epidemic emergencies and diseases targeted by the first group vaccination program, with the participation of Khartoum, Gedaref and Red Sea states.
Acting Director of the General Administration of Basic Health Care, Muhtadi Mahmoud, stressed in the opening session the importance of a rapid response to epidemic emergencies and diseases targeted by vaccination, especially in light of the circumstances the country is going through and the major challenges, whether the security situation and its repercussions on health in the country, as well as the autumn season and its effects, which require good preparation.
Muhtadi considered the workshop as a real integration between the two departments and working in the spirit of one team, appreciating the role of the national experts, led by Dr. Babiker Al-Maqbool, Dr. Al-Fateh Malik and those who did not skimp on their experience.
The head of immunization at the World Health Organization's Sudan Office, Dr. Hanan Mukhtar, in a press release, today started the activities of the workshop for training response teams for diseases covered by vaccination, describing this as an important step in light of the current circumstances and the inability to reach all children, especially in remote areas suffering from wars and population displacement. She added that the workshop aims to strengthen the capacities for rapid intervention and response in the event of infection or the emergence of any outbreak of diseases covered by vaccination, integration between different departments of the ministry and the full support of the ministry. organization.
The representative of the Investigation Department of the Expanded Program on Immunization, Yass Mahmoud, said in a press release that the workshop is being held in partnership with the World Health Organization and in full coordination with the General Administration of Health Emergencies and Epidemic Control, and through it will be produced recommendations that meet the requirements of the investigation program for reporting epidemics, and clear visions at the end of the workshop and their implementation on the other hand.
