The Federal Ministry of Health has revealed the expansion of psychological treatment services for mental illnesses and the use of psychiatrists present in the states, indicating that it is establishing five hospitals and health centers specialized in psychological treatment in states, and confirmed that it will pay necessary attention to patients with mental illnesses and provide them with treatment.

Undersecretary of the Federal Ministry of Health, Commissioner Dr. Ismat Mustafa, while addressing the celebration of World Mental Health Day today Thursday, at the Standards and Norms Hall, under the slogan “It's time to prioritize mental health in the workplace”, in the presence of the Acting Governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Muhammad Nour and the Director General of the Health Sector of the Red Sea State, D. Ahlam Abdel-Rasoul, director of the Sudan Standards and Metrology Authority, Rahba Saeed, and a number of consulting specialists in psychology, said that the ministry gives great attention to the specialty of psychiatry, where the challenges facing the work of psychotherapists and medical personnel were discussed, appreciating the role of society as a fundamental pillar of the first line of defense for the treatment of psychological and organic diseases. He added that psychiatry is a priority for us as the Ministry of Health, and we value the role and participation of the community in the community. raising awareness of the importance of treating psychiatric patients, he continued, saying that treatment is expensive for the family and the state.

For his part, the Governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Muhammad Nour, said that the use of manufactured drugs has become more dangerous than ordinary drugs as they lead to rapid addiction , calling on young people to stop consuming ice drugs and its derivatives.

Mustafa stressed the importance of awareness and religious commitment to warn of the danger of drug abuse, noting that drug abuse has increased recently and that there has become a great need for psychiatrists to treat the drug addiction.

In the same context, Dr. said: Bashar Abdel Rahman, in his article on the current situation of mental health, said that the number of specialist doctors working in psychiatry in the Red Sea State reached 12 specialists, the lack of trained medical personnel and the absence of specialized departments to treat children. suffering from psychological illnesses, indicating that the specialty of psychiatry faces challenges, especially against excellence against the mentally ill and society's misconception about the person being treated, in addition to the lack of availability of psychiatrists in localities across the state, in addition to the lack of availability of psychiatrists. the spread of drugs and the high rate of drug abuse among young people.

Bashar called for the need to raise awareness in society and reduce social stigmatization of mentally ill people being treated, calling for the construction of a new hospital with a capacity of 100 beds.
