In this context, Professor Suhaib Hamid, Director of EcoSudan, presented the content of the project, which is based on a partnership with several stakeholders (the communities benefiting from the Siqa project in the locality of Shikan – the pedagogical councils of the schools, the local department of education, the local department of agriculture, the ministry of production and its partners, the technical committee for excavation and maintenance of pumps, the humanitarian aid commission, development planning, the water and environmental sanitation project, the Zakat office, etc.)
The CEO of EcoSudan said that the project aims to produce vegetables in reasonable quantities to cover the needs of the population of El Obeid city using the water sources implemented by the locality in partnership with civil society and the Zakat Office of Shikan locality, charity organization. and national support organizations. By taking advantage of the wasted water from the sources, while organizing an integrated vision of irrigation during the evening period by installing drip irrigation systems and achieving self-sufficiency in the production of safe vegetables to achieve the concept of food security, as the choice will be up to the communities whose community committees interact with the project and who have the required space (acres or a little less or more) near the water source.
