Implementation of Yas National Road in Aqaba will be completed soon thanks to popular effort

The technical committee of the Yas National Road revealed that the road expansion and rehabilitation works have been 85% completed, noting that the road which connects parts of the localities of Al-Qanab and Al-Olib and Nile State, which is 62 kilometers from the Red Sea state's capital Port Sudan, would reduce the distance for travelers by more than 55 kilometers. This becomes a new port for the state next to the Aqaba road.
Director of the Yas Aqaba Opening Project, Engineer Muhammad Al-Amin Heikal, announced that the expansion and filling of the road has been 85% completed, indicating that the coming months will see the completion of the embankment and expansion operations, which will contribute to the flow of traffic passing through it, indicating that the road is one of the most important national highways in the state as it connects it to Nile State. In the Abu Hamad region and the Republic of Egypt, it is also considered one of the most important. promising export routes that would increase the value of the region and help rehabilitate its infrastructure and introduce basic services for its population, which has been suffering for years.
Heikal welcomed the visit of the symbols of the indigenous administration of the region and their observation of the progress of the works on the road, indicating that the works were carried out thanks to the concerted popular effort and a number of institutions public and private of the Red Sea State. .
In a related context, the Superintendent of Al-Amarar and Al-Amoudi Independent, Superintendent Ali Mahmoud, while observing the progress of the works from the Yas Aqabat Summit, praised the efforts of the project workers, indicating that he will serve the country. by increasing the amount of exports and facilitating access for large companies to invest in the locality of Cannabis and Olympia through which it passes, which is considered one of the localities richest in minerals and fertile land in the State.
He added: “The opening of the Yas Aqaba road contributes to bridging the distance between the Al-Amarr and Al-Bashrayen regions and connects the civilizations and culture of the regions to each other, in addition to its contribution to the introduction of health, electricity services, education and sustainable development.
For his part, the technical director of the project, Muhammad Shabab, called on the official and popular authorities to support the project by increasing the mechanisms before the arrival of the autumn season, noting that the rough road has led to malfunctions in the working mechanisms and reducing their number from eight to only two.
The rapporteur of the project, Engineer Ali, said that although the Yas Aqaba road opening project is one of the national projects that serve the state as a whole and not just the Red Sea State , it received no funding from the federal government. and relied on popular discontent in addition to support from the state government, the Mineral Resources Corporation and the Ariab Corporation.
He said the road connects the Red Sea to the Nile via Abu Hamad and Berber, reaching the Northern State and the Republic of Egypt, noting that the state should not be governed by a single street which would make it incapable of s it was damaged.
In the same context, committee member and chief goldsmith Muhammad Sayed Ali announced the near completion of the fourth and final phase of works on the Yas Aqaba road.
Stressing that the completion of the road will contribute to the provision of water, electricity and all services that citizens need, indicating that it is the shortest path to convey water from the Nile to solve the drinking water problems in the state.
In addition to the transportation of vegetables and fruits and the provision of health services, he highlighted that the Elias and Karbdite region recently received the first medical convoy of the year after asphalting the road.
