Inspection campaigns of Blue Nile municipal oil presses

In response to complaints from a number of consumers that the products of municipal oil presses are not fit for consumption, the Sudanese Organization for Standardization and Metrology branch in the Blue Nile region organized inspection campaigns of municipal oil presses to examine production inputs and manufacturing stages. The Authority's teams supervised the sunflower oil manufacturing process according to good manufacturing practices to ensure product compliance. The final specifications provided guidelines and directives to ensure the production of quality goods fit for consumption.

The branch also conducted inspection campaigns for markets including service houses, including food products, display and storage methods, warehouses and correspondence with the weight of goods in packaging centers and grocery stores. 230 cartons of sauce, 20 packs of soft drinks and many expired food products were seized.

Confirmed Dr. Abdul Salam Abdullah Rahmatullah, Acting Director of the branch, said that the authority is continuing the provisions of its supervisory role and paying attention to everything related to the consumer through continuous inspection and exploiting all awareness platforms to raise awareness among consumers, appreciating the great role played by the security services and relevant authorities in the region.
