International delegation hails Red Sea efforts to welcome displaced and provide humanitarian services
The Governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour Mahmoud, met with the Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Raouf Mazo, and the Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF, Mr. Ted Chaiban , to discuss the challenges facing the State in terms of reception. refugees and displaced people. During the meeting, the central role of the state as a gateway for humanitarian assistance to various regions of Sudan due to its geographical location was discussed.
The discussion also touched on documentation-related issues faced by internally displaced persons and refugees, as well as the possibility of making the Red Sea a model in providing services to host communities. The delegation praised the state's efforts to register displaced people and ensure they obtain the necessary documents.
