2010 – Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania signed a framework agreement to share the waters of the Nile after negotiations that lasted almost ten years. Kenya issued a statement in support of the agreement without signing it, while delegates from the Democratic Republic. Congo and Burundi did not participate, while Egypt and Sudan rejected the agreement.
