2012 – Trial of Radovan Karadžić begins before the War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague as a war criminal; After his arrest and after a Serbian judge investigated what was attributed to him. These include the notorious Srebrenica massacre, in which thousands of Bosnian Muslims were killed, and the deportation of tens of thousands of Croats in a process of ethnic cleansing aimed at establishing a Serbian state in Bosnia.
