Khartoum reconstruction workshop… strict security measures… tears of women journalists

The activities of the workshop for the reconstruction of the national capital, Khartoum, began on Tuesday morning, in the hall of the General Intelligence Service in Port Sudan.

Strict security measures were taken by the General Intelligence Service employees at the entrance to the hall, including the seizure of mobile phones and their ban from entering the hall, as well as a thorough personal inspection with some modern electronic equipment.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, was scheduled to address the opening session of the workshop, but he was absent and was replaced by Federal Minister of Government Mohamed Kartkila Saleh.

A sad documentary film was screened about the complete destruction of government facilities, residences, mosques and churches.

During the broadcast of the sad documentary, a group of female journalists began to cry, remembering the beautiful days spent in the cradle of their childhood and in the home of their youth. Indeed, the presentation was painful and unbearable.

Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza, as usual, appeared calm and collected despite the pain, exhaustion, fatigue and high psychological pressure. He delivered a beautiful and moving speech in which he summarized the current situation and answered a question that occupied the entire day. Many thought about the timing of this workshop, at a time when the war was still raging.

The governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, appeared very angry and did not go beyond a few words in his support and backing for the reconstruction of what was destroyed by the war.

The sad documentary was rich in material, convincing evidence and excellent legal advocacy. The credit for its preparation and execution goes to its creator, Mr. Al-Tayeb Saad Al-Din, a figure that is difficult to surpass, through the testimonies of those who know him well.

The workshop contained scientific articles that were reviewed by experts and scholars specializing in various fields in terms of good preparation and elaborate production. Certainly, if they were implemented on the ground, it would create a completely different reality.

For the state of Khartoum to return to what it was before, it costs a lot of money and requires a huge effort. Of course, destruction is very easy and can be done in a few seconds, but reconstruction is difficult, but it is not impossible if there is determination and will. persistence.

Crying over spilt milk and ruminating on beautiful memories is not enough to work. You have to roll up your sleeves, because the construction phase is not impossible and at the same time it is not easy.
