Laying the foundation stone of the largest reference laboratory for petroleum and its derivatives in Africa
Today, the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum started setting up a reference laboratory in Port Sudan, said Minister of Energy and Petroleum Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Muhammad Saeed during the laying of the foundation stone of the petroleum and derivatives laboratories in the ministry buildings in Port Sudan. Port Sudan today that the implementation of the laboratory is part of our efforts to implement the state policy aimed at quality control, monitoring and inspection and the audit of petroleum materials in accordance with international specifications and rationalization, in addition to the release of petroleum materials. He added that the laboratory is the largest petroleum and its derivatives laboratory in Africa, working to examine crude oil and all petroleum derivatives in accordance with international quality and specifications.
The minister appreciated this move and its importance for the oil sector and Sudan in general, in addition to providing services to the region, especially to landlocked countries, stressing that the laboratory works to provide oil inspection services and petroleum derivatives, which were previously carried out outside and inside the country in Khartoum and at the Port Sudan refinery, promising the Sudanese people to complete the project in time for its opening.
said Dr. Walid Saleh Ibrahim, head of the crude oil and hydrocarbons department at the General Administration of Laboratories, Research and Petroleum Studies, stressing that the laboratory was designed with high capacities to ensure the control of quality of crude oil and all petroleum derivatives, which includes all types. of aircraft gas, gasoline, diesel, oven, cooking gas, lubricating oils, grease, water, measurement and calibration, explaining that each product It has an international standard.
He pointed out that the laboratory building was designed on three floors in accordance with international specifications and contains a number of devices and equipment for the aforementioned raw materials and derivatives, indicating that the laboratory has taken into account the availability of all the Aids ensure that the interior and external environment is not affected by the laboratory, indicating that the project will strive to accommodate young new graduates with experience from other laboratories.
