Port Sudan
Minni Arko Minawi said the humanitarian situation in Sudan in general and Darfur in particular has deteriorated significantly, noting that rebel militias have committed crimes against humanity, including the genocide in El Geneina.
Minawi said during the reflection forum on the humanitarian situation in Sudan in general and Darfur in particular, in the presence of representatives of international organizations working in Sudan, in the presence of Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid Salwa Adam Benya and a number of members of the Darfur regional government, that there is a difference between war and crimes, and that what was done by the Janjaweed militia represents a blatant violation against humanity, indicating that it is important to condemn this behavior.
Minawi added that the city of El Fasher declares a siege by rebel militias, which is considered tantamount to genocide, as it prevents the entry of humanitarian aid for a period of seven months, which is unacceptable .
He said the militia was deliberately committing indiscriminate bombings against civilians and service institutions, which is considered a crime in its own right, noting that there are currently more than a million citizens in El Fasher, which which requires urgent intervention to provide humanitarian assistance.
