More than twenty people, including children, were lightly injured following the explosion of a gas cylinder in one of the cafeterias of the new Shindi market, south of the court, in a place full of shops , bus stops and a dense human population.

The injured were transferred to the emergency department of Shendi Hospital.

The civil protection forces managed to control the fire without it spreading to the rest of the businesses and institutions located near the scene of the fire, in particular to the gas station near the scene of the accident. Shendi Local Police Director Brigadier General Ezzedine Mohamed Idris witnessed the accident and followed the process of securing the sites and transferring the injured and those affected by the accident to the hospital Shendi's accidents.
