Let us deliver the scene from another angle, according to what happened in the dangerous and unprecedented development which witnessed the city of Port Sudan in recent days; A series of attacks with strategic racing planes targeting military sites and civil facilities, including airport, fuel warehouses and the descent of diplomatic missions, international organizations, air base and port. This reflects a qualitative change in the nature of the Sudanese war ongoing for more than two years.
These attacks, which were carried out by the rapid support militia, clearly show that the country has entered a new stage of conflict, in which technology, politics, intelligence and regional intervention overlap, in a complex scene which cannot be understood or treated in isolation of the most complete context of the war. In this article, we are trying to discuss this, since caravans are not available to have non-states.
These transformations indicate the presence of advanced operating rooms which manage the battle remotely and control its technical and tactical tools, which improves the hypothesis of the support of logistical and external intelligence which provides the militia of means and technologies, and guarantees the capacity to carry out qualitative operations which exceed its supposed self-capacity capacities. This is known as the “War of the Shadows of the Agency”, in which the militia is used as an agent so that others implement a project aimed at reorganizing the Sudanese scene according to a new vision, which develops in its manifestations, through several stages, since before the fall of the Bashir regime in 2019.
Official data from the Sudanese government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Military Command have confirmed that procedural attacks represent “complete assault” behind a regional state. This was supported by declarations of the army that the planes extended from the outside of the country. This escalation transforms the conflict into Sudan into a complex regional confrontation, in which geopolitical accounts and transversal interests overlap, aimed at putting pressure on the army to go to negotiations leading to an imposed settlement, which allows external parties to influence the articulations of the state.
Providing advanced suicide bombers with advanced suicide planes is a threat that goes beyond Sudan, to affect the security of the whole region. It transforms regional airspace into a possible chaos arena, targeting civil facilities such as airports and ports reveals the intention to disturb the state, and clear contempt for international law, which prohibits hitting civil infrastructure. The country, which allows itself to provide non -governmental actors with advanced suicide plans, feels a tool that can be the coup.
What happened in Port Sudan cannot be isolated from the region. Attacking attacks were not only an assault against Sudan, but a warning that passed the borders of Sudan to the capital of the neighborhood and the whole region. This was reflected in the great reactions of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Iran and Turkey, in addition to the African Union, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League; Where they expressed their concern about the severity of these developments, and they agreed – despite the variation in their interests – which he refused to transform Sudan into an area of proxy war which threatens the stability of the region and the region.
This regional and international consensus reflects a common conscience that the continuation of war, with the entry of unconventional tools such as external sustained clarifications, prefigures the creation of a fragile security environment, which is not affected by Khartoum or Sudan Port alone, but its effects extend to the Red Sea, in the African century, and even to the security of world navigation and the sea of the Red Sea.
The experience lasts that Port Sudan lived in recent days has revealed a late defense response and has shown that air defense is not enough alone if it is not preceded by an intelligence work capable of discovering the attacks before that. In the previous stages and various internal and external crises, Sudan was able, through intelligence tools, to prevent real disasters by anticipating the strike and by dismantling the danger, in coordination with intelligence services in the region. The battle is now not only won in the air, but in the mind and the analysis rooms, and in the surveillance and monitoring networks that know when, where and how the plan is frustrated before its completion.
In this context, the importance of the overall reading of events is highlighted; What is happening today is an attempt to destroy the political and social system of the Sudanese interior state, by hitting its vital articulations, by intimidating its residents, confusing its administration and transforming it into a failed state. Whoever deals with this event as a simple “military climbing” is devoted to understanding the real path of war.
New security challenges can only be confronted with a strategic spirit which includes the interconnection between phenomena and absorbs their development; The danger of bars is not limited to its use against Sudan, but in the absence of segmented readings thereof, especially since it can reach opposition groups which threaten the security of the region. Therefore, it is necessary to have an international deterrence and an integrated vision that protects the countries from the interior. The clarifications that have become easy for non-government can occur in the hands of terrorist groups.
According to what we see from the face of the truth, the events of Port Sudan underline the need to think of security with a global approach, connecting the tools, the objectives and the common interests, and realizes that the threat of the borders is transient. What happened is the start of a new model of wars, which requires rebuilding national security concepts and state tools. Ignore this new type of wars opens the door to a possible regional chaos, which cannot exclude anyone.
