National Blood Transfusion Services Department Director Inspects Northern Blood Bank

The Director of the National Blood Transfusion Services Department, Dr. Essam El-Din Hassan, revealed that the first blood delivered to the Armed Forces Medical Hospital during the first days of the Karama battle came from the Northern State Blood Bank.
The Director of the National Department of Blood Transfusion Services held an expanded meeting during his inspection of the blood bank as part of the field visit of the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Muhammad Ibrahim and the accompanying delegation to the state, during which he listened to a detailed and comprehensive explanation of the progress of the work, performance, obstacles and problems they are facing, as well as the ongoing work plan and the work plan for the next stage. were reviewed, commending the efforts and work implemented, stressing his support for all projects.
During the tour of all sections of the blood bank, he highlighted the efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health to ensure and continue the provision of blood transfusion services and continue to provide this service free of charge to patients, stressing the development of blood transfusion services and improving their safety, and addressing the identified gaps, including immediate measures to meet the growing demand for blood transfusion in humanitarian emergencies and during the recovery phase, stressing their readiness to continue providing blood to the wounded in the battle of Karama, in addition to continuing to provide health services despite the circumstances facing the country and working to rehabilitate and develop services in blood banks, appreciating the role of the National Medical Supplies Fund in delivering blood bags to all states in Sudan.
Hassan stressed the commitment of the Federal Ministry of Health to support the ongoing efforts of the blood bank and discussions on the process of developing blood services, stressing the importance of providing the necessary support to enable the entire blood program, stressing the need to ensure that blood banks are subject to legal accountability and establish a free and regular voluntary blood donation program and strive to continue providing services.
He thanked Dr. Issam addressed all the supporting organizations, led by the World Health Organization, saying: “We are very grateful for their unlimited support at all levels and for their health programs that contribute to the development of the health sector in Sudan,” calling for increased interventions to meet the needs of the people. the needs of blood banks, adding that blood transfusion services in Sudan are provided at an advanced and safe level through a clear plan.
