Dr. Muhammad al-Badawi Abdul Majid Abu Qarun, Acting Governor of the Nile, announced that this year is the year of the environment. The governor ordered the state finance ministry to resolve the issue of labor rights in the council, to speed up the operation of the council's environmental laboratory and to benefit from the council's equipment to improve the preservation of environmental safety and security and to benefit from specialized cadres in environmental fields from Khartoum.

Dr. Hassan Hamad Al-Sayed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for the Protection and Promotion of the State Environment, presented detailed reports on the performance of the General Secretariat of the State Government, the future plan, the council's working regulations and the environmental laws, which were referred to the Council of Ministers of the State Government for final approval after their approval by the meeting.

The members of the Council spoke about the importance and role of the Council in protecting and preserving human health. They highlighted the challenges facing the state in light of climate change, in addition to the dangers of mining and its negative environmental impacts, especially with regard to the environment.
