Nile Governor welcomes the support of the World Food Program to the State, reassures on the launch of a resilience project in the State, welcomes the opening of an office in the State and confirms the capacity of the State to ensure the food security of the country.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Badawi Abdul Majid Abu Qarun, Governor of Nile, expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the World Food Program for its support to the state. This happened during his meeting with the delegation of program leaders and Sumoud. The governor said the World Food Program was playing a brilliant role in the state, stressing that the resilience project is in line with the state government's efforts and plan to focus on production and production. attention paid to the agricultural sector, both plant and animal. the movement of exports and imports, as well as the expansion and development of the Atbara dry port, to help enrich the exports of the state's products, especially since the state is known for its abundant production many agricultural crops, fruits and citrus fruits, which necessitates the need to find external markets for the state's products. The governor confirmed that the state is capable of ensuring the food security of the country, which is the food basket of the world, God willing, with a little effort and support. said that we aim to raise the culture of work and production within society, and this can only be done with the support of the agricultural sector. Mr. Governor referred to the Productive Expatriates Initiative proposed by the State and Greater Ministry of Agriculture. The success that the experiment achieved in the previous year in many parts of the state, he said, added that the state now comprises a large number of expatriates from all states, which requires to find projects that contribute to their stability and provide them with a decent means of living.

Mr. Mustafa Muhammad Othman Al-Sharif, Deputy Governor and Minister of Culture, Information and Communications of the State, highlighted the need to benefit from the Sumoud Project in the development of rural communities, emphasizing the support of the Ministry to the program by raising awareness and preaching the objectives of the Sumoud project.

Engineer Salah Ali Karkba, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Forestry of the state, praised the positions of the World Food Program in the state and its experience two years ago in providing seeds to five thousand farmers, increasing this year to 17 thousand farmers. He highlighted the high productivity achieved by the program and called for increased support, especially during the winter season, to ensure food security.

Mr. Othman Amara, Minister of Investment, Industry, Mines, Tourism and Quarries of the State, highlighted the importance of the Sumoud project and expressed satisfaction with the interest of the program for manufacturing industries and the link between agriculture and industry. in accordance with the ministry's plan to move towards manufacturing and small industries.

Professor Amira Ahmed Hassan, State Minister of Finance, Economy and Manpower, highlighted the significant economic impact of the project and its contribution to solving the problem of unemployment, reducing of the severity of poverty and the concentration on agricultural and consumer cooperative societies. which contributes to advancing the reality of the cooperative movement because it constitutes a fundamental pillar of the economy and its economic and social role in improving the standard of living.

Dr. Tahani Mirghani Abdel Hafeez, Minister of Social Affairs of the state, said that they are looking at the Sumoud project from the perspective that it serves small farmers and producers and focuses on the weak segments of expatriates as well as productive women. These programs are part of the ministry's efforts and plan to break out of the cycle of poverty and ensure that the citizen can be productive instead of receiving support.

Ms. Afaf Taj Al-Sir, Commissioner for Humanitarian and Voluntary Aid in the State, praised the World Food Program and the Resilience Organization in the State and highlighted the seriousness of these organizations and their positions with the state.

Professor Hassan Abdel Qader Hilal, national expert and former federal environment minister, and leaders of the World Food Program and the Sumoud Organization, reviewed the objectives of the Sumoud project, which benefits from a two-year grant years of the World Bank. allocated to small farmers and production. The project focuses on linking agriculture with industry and processing industries through ownership of production tools, as well as cooperative societies.
