Northern Governor discusses future plans and education issues with UNICEF Office Director

The Northern Governor, Abdeen Awadallah, met in his office with the Director of UNICEF Office in Northern and Nile States, Mr. Othman Shaiba Abu Fatima, in the presence of the State Humanitarian Aid Commissioner , Dr. Abdul Rahman Ali Khairy.

State Humanitarian Aid Commissioner Dr. Abdul Rahman Ali Khairy said the meeting discussed UNICEF projects in the northern state which it has been providing since the start of the war, future plans and educational issues facing the state, especially as it hosts 225,000 students, in addition to the state's preparations to receive students from the Darfur region to take the certificate exams Sudanese.

The projects in which UNICEF is working in the areas of health, water and sanitation, especially the local water problem of Wadi Halfa, and he stressed that the organization will work to solve it in the coming period, as well as the resilience project, which will work in the localities of Al-Dabba and Dalqo in the coming period.

The governor thanked UNICEF for its interventions in the northern state and its understanding of the situation in the state, especially as it hosts over 3 million internally displaced persons.
