Northern Governor Praises Service's Medical Role
The State Medical Commission Administration, in cooperation with the General Administration of Primary Health Care, launched the polio vaccination program for travelers to the Arab Republic of Egypt, in the presence and honor of the Governor of the Northern State, Mr. Abdeen Awadallah.
The Northern Governor stressed the importance of the role of the Medical Commission Administration in monitoring the medical reports of those who travel for treatment outside the country.
Welcoming the administration's adoption of vaccination of travelers to Egypt with the polio vaccine as part of the requirements of the Egyptian Consulate in Halfa.
The Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Satti Hassan Satti, also praised the role of health partners in implementing the ministry's programs and projects.
Focus on efforts to overcome health challenges facing the state
He highlighted the touring programme that has started in schools to sensitize and educate on the prevention of watery diarrhea, in conjunction with the environmental sanitation and disease vector control campaign in Dongola.
In the same vein, the director of the state's medical department, Dr. Salah Al-Hajj, said that the northern state is one of the first states to implement the requirements of the Egyptian consulate in Halfa to vaccinate travelers against paralysis.
He reassured citizens about the impact of the vaccine, saying it is safe and effective.
He added that the experience of administering it to adults has been applied in many countries.
He announced the commencement of medical examinations for workers in the food and beverage sector, starting in the locality of Dongola, to complement the efforts of the environmental sanitation campaign and the control of disease vectors in Dongola.
