Northern Governor reviews progress and performance of Humanitarian Aid Commission
The Governor of Northern State, Mr. Abdeen Awadallah, was briefed in his office on the progress of the work and performance of the Commission, as well as the performance of the organizations and their contribution in mitigating the effects of the rain and torrential rains and helping the affected people by providing them with food and shelter. This came during his meeting with the State Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, Dr. Abdul Rahman Ali Khairy.
The Northern Governor was also briefed on the implementation of response plans of United Nations organizations and agencies in the state in the water, education and decent livelihood sectors, as well as protection and health sectors.
The Humanitarian Aid Commissioner indicated the beginning of arrangements with organizations and preparations to intervene to ward off the health effects resulting from the fall.
He also confirmed their willingness to implement projects in the state funded by the World Food Programme to fill the food deficit in Sudan due to the war.
He added that there are programmes targeting youth and women that will also be implemented in the state with funding from the World Bank.
