Northern State Agriculture Minister and Dalgu Executive Visit Coca Project
This morning, the Minister of Agriculture of the Northern State, Agricultural Engineer/Othman Ahmed Othman, and the Executive Director of the Dalqo locality, Mr. Mudassir Sharaf al-Din, visited the Koka agricultural project this morning, in the presence of the Director of the Department of Agriculture of the locality, Engineer Imran Othman, and the Director of the Baraka unit, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed, and others, the delegation reviewed the obstacles facing the project and developed solutions for them in preparation for the start of the next winter season and the return of the project to work after the project was stopped for a while.
For his part, the Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Northern State said that the purpose of the visit is to identify the difficulties facing the project and that through concerted efforts, the project will be among the plans of the state during the next winter season. God willing.
For his part, the executive director of the locality of Dalqo said that the aim of the visit to the project was to solve its problems, prepare early for the winter season and plan its return to work after its shutdown for three years. spoke about the impact of its shutdown on the citizens of the region and neighboring areas, and spoke about the economic importance of the project for the citizens, especially in the current circumstances.
At the end of his speech, he expressed his thanks to the Minister of State of the Ministry of Agriculture for solving the problems of the project and his interest in resuming the project, overcoming the difficulties and directing the departments concerned with technical treatments in electricity and irrigation so that the mistakes do not happen again.
For his part, the engineer of the Irrigation Department, Al-Nour Ahmed, said that the operation of the project faces some obstacles in terms of electricity, which are being resolved, and the vases that have been treated are waiting for the project to operate until the project is operational. the completed treatments are determined.
He stressed that the total area of operation of the Koka agricultural project is estimated at seven thousand acres and that in order to operate it, it is necessary to develop canals and maintain organizations.
At the end of his speech, he hoped that the project would be part of the state's plans for the next winter season in order to achieve self-sufficiency of the locality and the state.
It is worth noting that the Koka agricultural project was established in 2009 as part of the national wheat cultivation program.
