On International White Cane Day, Northern Governor Orders Mass Weddings for the Blind

The Governor of the Northern State, Mr. Abdeen Awadallah, has affirmed his government's concern for people with special needs and the blind and gives them top priority in all aspects of life.

In his speech, Abdeen led the celebration of the International White Cane Day, organized by the General Department of Traffic in partnership with persons with disabilities and in coordination with the Blind Union.

He ordered the Blind Union to adopt group marriage for the blind in coordination with UNICEF, localities and the Ministry of Finance.

Stressing that all requests in this segment will be met through official channels

He said: “We believe in the rights of the blind and people with special needs. »

The governor greeted all blind people on the occasion of the celebration of International White Cane Day, and said the blind have the right to education and regain freedom to work and live their lives.

He thanked the Northern State Traffic Police for their care today in solidarity with the blind.

He said the Northern Traffic Police had adopted the approach of including stick marks on the license, seeing it as a tribute to all blind people.
