President of the Sovereignty Council meets Secretary General of the League of Arab States

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today with Secretary General of the League of Arab States Ahmed Aboul Gheit in the framework of its participation in the work of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York.
The meeting discussed the importance of strengthening peace, security and stability in Sudan, ending the war, addressing humanitarian conditions and returning the displaced to their homes.
The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council expressed appreciation for the role of the Arab League in supporting Sudan and its desire to end the Sudanese crisis and achieve lasting peace, addressing the efforts and initiatives proposed in this regard , emphasizing the government's readiness to engage in any initiative aimed at ending the war in a manner that guarantees the dignity and will of the Sudanese people and the sovereignty of the state.
For his part, Aboul Gheit expressed the League's support for efforts to end the ongoing conflict in Sudan and restore the role of the Sudanese state at all levels, and said: “The return of security and stability in Sudan will remain one of the priorities of the Arab League.
