President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces arrives in Angola

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived today in the Angolan capital, Luanda, on an official visit at the invitation of Angolan President João Lourenço.

An official reception ceremony for the President of the Sovereign Council took place at the presidential palace in the capital, Luanda.

The two sides began joint official discussions that focused on the deep-rooted relations between Sudan and Angola and ways to support and develop them for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.

Both sides affirmed their willingness to strengthen prospects for joint cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

During his meeting with the Angolan President, the President of the Sovereignty Council provided a detailed explanation of the current situation in Sudan, against the backdrop of the rebellion led by the Rapid Support terrorist militia against the State and its institutions, stressing the government's commitment to all proposed peace initiatives because it believes in the importance of peace and stability.

Highlighting the agreement signed in Jeddah and the lack of commitment of rebel militias to implement its results.

For his part, the Angolan President thanked the President of the Sovereign Council for accepting the invitation to visit Angola, highlighting the relations established between the two countries.

It is noteworthy that the meeting took place in the presence of the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
