President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council meets with the Secretary-General of the United Nations

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today in New York with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. This is taking place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly currently taking place in New York.

The President of the Sovereignty Council informed the Secretary-General of the United Nations of the crimes, violations and atrocities committed by the Rapid Support terrorist militia against innocent citizens and its attacks on infrastructure, hospitals and public institutions.

Stressing the need for these violations and crimes to be clearly condemned by the international community, especially as they target defenceless civilians.

Al-Burhan stressed the Sudanese government's cooperation with international and regional organizations working in the humanitarian field and providing everything that would facilitate the passage of humanitarian convoys and the delivery of relief to those in need.

Highlighting the government's approval to open the Adre crossing on the border with Chad to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid to people affected by the war.

Furthermore, the UN Secretary-General called for an end to the war, an end to the suffering of the Sudanese people and the continuation of dialogue as a means to resolve the conflict in Sudan.

Welcoming the cooperation of the Sudanese government in providing humanitarian assistance to people affected by the war.
