Project launched to protect livestock assets and restore livelihoods of Blue Nile herders

Dr. Nour Al-Hadi Adam Othman, Director General of the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Pastures of the Blue Nile Region, led by the ministry, inaugurated the launch of the project aimed at protecting livestock assets and to restore the livelihoods of herders through livestock interventions (livestock vaccination campaigns) in the Blue Nile, which is implemented by the Afaq Peace and Development Organization in cooperation with the Food organization, Agriculture and Agriculture (FAO), with the participation of Dr. Khalida Abbas Al-Khazain, Director of the Organization. Afaq Organization for Peace and Development, Professor Younis Muhammad Ali, program director of the organization, and Dr. Zainab Mahjoub, director of the veterinary extension department at the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Pastures, alongside the directors of the livestock departments of the governorates of Al-Rusairs and Wood Al-Mahi.

Dr. Nour Al-Hadi Adam Othman, Director General of the Ministry of Livestock, said the project to protect livestock assets is long overdue and aims to provide veterinary services to small livestock producers and breeders. received the project in Al-Rusairs and Wood Al-Mahi governorates, noting that the initial survey aims to determine real needs and investigate diseases, and that the project provides adequate and realistic information that contributes to the implementation of vaccination campaigns and protection. livestock against diseases.

Nour Al-Hadi confirmed the availability of his ministries and all their administrations to make the project a success.

Dr. Khaleda Abbas Al-Khazain, Director of Afaq Organization for Peace and Development, explained that the project involves extensive interventions including vaccination campaigns and awareness and orientation sessions in cooperation with the Ministry of breeding. orientation sessions and record targets to provide additional information for vaccination campaigns.
